Business consultant Suhel Seth has strongly criticized US President Joe Biden's unconditional pardon for his son Hunter Biden, calling it a "travesty of the American justice system." Seth expressed his concerns in an interview with ANI, stating that this action further undermines public trust in the already politicized US legal system.
"Yesterday, Joe Biden's unconditional pardon to his son Hunter Biden, to my mind, is a travesty of the American justice system. What's worse is that it's an indictment of the justice system itself," Seth remarked. He highlighted President Biden's own admission that politics has infected the judiciary, leading to a miscarriage of justice. Seth questioned how anyone could believe in a system where such blatant favoritism can occur.
Seth also pointed to the inconsistencies in the handling of legal cases within the US Department of Justice. He cited the case of former President Donald Trump, who was indicted but subsequently saw charges withdrawn by the same judge. This, according to Seth, illustrates a deeply flawed system that appears to operate based on political motivations rather than fairness.
Seth's criticism extends beyond Hunter Biden's pardon. He believes the recent actions of US prosecutors linking Gautam Adani, an Indian businessman, to alleged bribery are politically motivated. He argues that these accusations stem from resentment towards India's recent successes and its thriving business environment.
"What have we seen with Adanis? They are a group in India. They're operating again, under Indian regulatory systems, which are, to my mind, the best in the world or on par. What do they first say? They issue a press statement. That one particular Adani, another particular Adani have been named. Then they issue a statement. No, their names are not there. It is clearly a politicization and to my mind it's a politicization because of the success that Indians and Indian businesses have achieved," Seth stated.
Seth emphasizes that justice should be impartial and equitable for all. He argues that if President Biden believes his son was unfairly treated, how can any other individual or company, particularly from India, expect a fair hearing within the US legal system? He concludes by warning that such actions erode faith in American institutions and demonstrate a troubling disregard for principles of justice.
President Joe Biden's decision to pardon his son Hunter Biden has sparked intense debate. While some argue that it is a personal matter, Seth's outspoken criticism highlights the broader concerns about political influence on legal proceedings and the potential erosion of public trust in the US justice system.
