One of the evening’s most significant moments saw actor-singer Diljit Dosanjh take home the Best Actor award for his compelling portrayal of legendary Punjabi singer Amar Singh Chamkila in the biographical web film "Amar Singh Chamkila." Directed by Imtiaz Ali, the film delves into the untold true story of Punjab's original rockstar, who rose from poverty to become a beloved icon in the 1980s. His music captivated audiences, but also drew criticism that ultimately led to his tragic assassination at the young age of 27.
Diljit's powerful performance brought Chamkila’s story to life, capturing the singer's charisma, talent, and the complex societal pressures he faced.
On the other hand, Kareena Kapoor Khan won the Best Actress award for her captivating role in "Jaane Jaan," a suspenseful thriller directed by Sujoy Ghosh.
